Revolution Motorsports turns up the power on a run at the title; team announces new association with Huffaker Engineering.
Detroit - October 1, 2002 - When Stu Hayner hits the streets this week, the #02 Trenton Forging Corvette will be turning heads as he backs up his recent domination of Denver with a repeat performance in Miami. The Stu Hayner "Power Tour" is coming to Miami loaded for bear and Huffaker Engineering is providing the bullets.
"So far, it's been a great season," said team owner, Don Sak. "We are way ahead of our own predictions. However, we promised ourselves we would review every component of the program every step of the way. With three races left, we feel this is the time to research options and changes for 2003. While reviewing every link in the chain, we felt it was time to review our motor program. Huffaker's reputation for horsepower made him the logical choice."
"This is just another phase in our commitment to the program," said Sak. "It really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. We said we were going to show up with a 110% effort... well, this is part of that process. My team as given everything I've asked of them. Stu Hayner as given us everything he has every time he's hit the track. I want to make sure we give ourselves the best opportunity to win."
"The development for 2003 has to begin now, Sak emphasized. "We're in the planning stages of all phases of the 2003 campaign. Whether it's marketing programs or engine programs.... we're planning now."
"The last quarter of the season is in many ways the first quarter of next season," Sak continued. "You can be sure we're racing with everything we've got for the balance of 2002.... after all, mathematically we're still in it. We're happy to have been on the podium. However, the difference between first and third is the job at hand. We aren't kidding ourselves. It's a big job."
Hayner will be driving the #02 Trenton Forging Corvette in the Trans-Am Series BF Goodrich Tires Cup at the Grand Prix of the Americas on the streets of Miami, October 6th, 2002.
