RSR, DRISSI ON THE REBOUND AT LIME ROCK PARK
EAST LANSING, Michigan (July 1, 2010) - Entering the mid-point of the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series, RSR puts on a serious game face with the goal to return to the podium this weekend at Lime Rock Park and run strong for the remainder of the season in hopes to have Tomy Drissi re-crowned as the Trans-Am Champion.
Drissi, who won the season opener, has finished on the podium in two out of four races. However, unfortunate issues cost him valuable points in the other two events, seeing him slip to third in the championship points standings. The Hollywood, California native currently trails second place by 27 points, the leader by 79 markers.
"Our first four races haven't been very consistent," said Drissi. "We have been strong, but we have had our struggles. The other guys are running perfect races and having no problems. But I have faith; I have a great team and the support from 20th Century Fox. We can do this!"
The revived Trans-Am Series returns to Lime Rock Park after a seven year hiatus. 2003 was also the last time RSR Principal Partner Paul Gentilozzi had a Trans-Am team race there, in which they earned the pole and victory. Drissi is no stranger to the challenge 1.53-miles, 7-turn road course at Lime Rock Park. Making his 91st Trans-Am start, he returns to the Lakeville, Connecticut venue for the fourth time to pilot the #5 Night & Day Jaguar XKR.
"Lime Rock Park is a beautiful track," Drissi added. "It is fast, technical, and brings out the best in any driver / team in order to do well there. I feel like we have an excellent combination this weekend: a blockbuster movie, Night & Day, and a fast race car. I am ready to get both of them to the top of the charts."
