JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 15, 2000) -- Hitachi Electronics has renewed its associate sponsorship deal with Automationdirect.com on the Chevrolet Corvette of Johnny Miller for the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series in 2000, it was announced today.

"We're very happy to have Hitachi come back on board with us," said Miller, a four-year veteran of the Trans-Am Series. "They have really stepped up their involvement with our team, just as we've stepped up our overall program in the Trans-Am. With their help, we've got our sights set on a championship this year."

Miller, 34, was the 1996 Rookie of the Year in the Trans-Am Series, and was voted Most Improved Driver by his peers in 1998. Last season, he finished fifth in season points, started from the front row on two occasions, scored five top-three finishes including three times in second place, and even led at the Trois-Rivieres round.

Hitachi, America, Ltd. is a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., and markets and manufactures a broad range of electronics, computer systems, consumer electronics and semiconductors.

"We've found Trans-Am, and our association with Johnny Miller, has really helped our national exposure, and fits well with our marketing goals," commented Tim Hohmann, founder and president of Automationdirect.com. "We're excited to be able to pull together the caliber of business partners we have to continue this effort, and Hitachi is an example of that. It's proving to be a win-win situation for all of us." Automationdirect.com is the control products online superstore, and has been involved with Johnny Miller in the Trans-Am since the very beginning of Miller's professional career.
