Archival quality print collection commemorates "The Year of the Cat"

Detroit -- October 17, 2003 Trans-Am Series photographer, , announced today the release of a Limited Edition Collectors set of archival quality prints commemorating the 2003 Motorock Trans-Am Tour for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup. The collection, titled "The Year of the Cat," will go on sale this week via the Internet at www.johnthawley.com

"I'm very excited about this project," commented Thawley. "I'm extremely pleased with the selection of images and the large format."

"One of my goals was to achieve the best archival quality," Thawley added. "Each image is printed on 13"x19" heavy archival photo paper using special pigment based inks. Every step involved in the creation of each print employs the very latest in archival methods. The images are boxed in a rigid museum quality presentation case lined with acid free paper"

"These are hand made prints," Thawley continued. "I'm in control every step of the way. The papers and inks have been put through accelerated aging tests to insure maximum longevity. I've made every effort to insure the archival properties are state-of-the-art. I can state with confidence these prints will maintain their color and brilliance for many years to come."

The collection features the cars of Scott Pruett, , , Jorge Diaz Jr., Bobby Sak, Randy Ruhlman, , Stu Hayner, Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg. Additionally, there is a podium shot of celebrating his win at Sonoma. While there are twelve images included in the boxed set, eleven of the prints are available individually, framed or unframed. The twelfth print is an exclusive black and white photo of 2003 Champion 's #7 Rocketsports Jaguar XKR. This print is only available in the boxed collector's set.

The Trans-Am Tour features closed-fendered, production-based, V-8-powered sports cars, competing on permanent road courses, and temporary street and airport circuits throughout North America. The Trans-Am Tour is America's oldest continuously running road racing series and celebrates its 38th anniversary in 2003.
