Tomy Drissi, driver of the no. 5 Pyro Jaguar XKR, qualified 13th for tomorrow's Trans-Am race.

NOTE 1 - BACKGROUND STATS...Ranks eighth in the points standings...Finished third at Trois-Rivieres, his first podium finish since Mosport in 2000...Has five top-ten finishes in seven starts...In 2001, finished 11th in the points standings...Had five top-ten finishes and two "Fast Five" starts...In 2000, was voted "Most Improved Driver"...Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999.

NOTE 2 - Joins Rocketsports Racing stable this season after a stint as on owner/driver in 1999 and 2000.

On his qualifying effort... "The car was pushing badly right from the start. It didn't want to turn in. We came in early in the session to make a shock adjustment. It helped some but it wasn't enough. We'll just keep digging and see what we can come up with.
