#10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette retires with ignition problems.
Denver - September 1, 2002 - Don Sak in the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette was enjoying a great race when a faulty ignition box cut his day short. The car retired to finish 15th.
"As we rolled out for the start of the race, the ignition started acting up," remarked Don. "My car chief made an attempt to make a quick fix and we thought we could make it last. Unfortunately around lap 36, as I came down the front straight, I heard the "snap, crackle, pop." Sure enough something had shorted along the harness and the motor quit. I managed to get it started, but it was too late. Something had let go in the motor and all I could do was coax the car off course."
"It's a shame," he continued. "I was having a ball out there. I had been working with Stu Hayner all weekend and it was really paying off. I was out there mixing it up with a few guys and having a good clean run. I can't remember having so much fun."
"All-in-all it was a good weekend," Sak continued. "The crew took a pretty hard emotional hit on the #02 Trenton Forging car Saturday. These guys are family to my wife Martha and I. Sure, racing is a business these days... but these guys are family. We're so proud of how they handled themselves. They deserved to win. They put the fastest car on the track. They're the best crew in the paddock and they did themselves proud. We'll take Stu's third and move on to Miami.
