LANSING, Mich. -- The Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup will be well represented at the Greater Cleveland International Auto Show this week. Team owner/driver Tim Cowen will display his No. 75 Cowen Truck Line Ford Mustang race car at the show, being held at the I-X Center through Sunday, March 9.

Cowen, who won the 2002 SCCA GT-1 Championship, is also scheduled to sign autographs beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the SCCA Central Division-East Booth.

Cowen plans to compete in four Trans-Am Series events this season, including races at Cleveland's Burke Lakefront Airport on July 4 and at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. on Aug. 24.

"My local SCCA Region invited me to display the car in their booth," said Cowen, who won the Valvoline Runoffs last year at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the same Mustang he has on display. "It's typically a pretty good show. They expect between 400,000 and 500,000 people to attend. This should give fans a good sneak preview of what they'll see later this year at U.S. Bank Presents Cleveland Grand Prix."

Cowen competed in three Trans-Am Series races last year and has a total of nine starts in the Series. His best finish, 15th, came at Road America in 2001. Cowen also recorded runner-up finishes in GT-1 points in 2000 and 2001.

The Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup features closed-fendered, production-based, V-8-powered sports cars. The Trans-Am Series is America's oldest continuously running sports car racing series and celebrates its 38th anniversary in 2003.
