Joey Scarallo Scores Third Consecutive Top-Five Finish at Cleveland

CLEVELAND (July 2, 2004) -- Joey Scarallo, driver of the No. 06 ROH Wheels/Group A Autotrend/Toyo Tires Chevrolet Corvette, scored his third-straight top-five finish, finishing fifth in today's Trans-Am on the Tarmac, Round 4 of the 2004 Motorock Trans-Am Series title chase, at Cleveland. Scarallo started ninth and earned his second-straight VP Fuel Hard Charger Award for improving the most positions during the race.

Proving the third time really is a charm, Scarallo, who struggled all weekend chasing the setup of his car, raced side by side with Trans-Am veteran Greg Pickett and won. Pickett is the 1978 Trans-Am champion and is looking to become the first driver to win a race in each of four decades of competition.

"Racing toe to toe with driver like Pickett, who is a well-respected competitor, and coming in ahead of him may earn me more respect as a serious driver," said Scarallo. "It was cool racing against Greg.

"I raced hard and I raced clean," added Scarallo. "It was a great race and we had a good run. I'm ready for the next race at Toronto now."
