SIMPLE GREEN POSTS ADDITIONAL BONUS FOR CLEVELAND RACE; BIGGEST SINGLE RACE-WINNER PAYOUT POSSIBLE

MIAMI, Fla. -- Simple Green, title sponsor for the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series race in Cleveland and sponsor of the Simple Green Clean-Up Award, has posted an additional $15,000 bonus for the Simple Green Trans-Am 100, July 1, part of the Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland. The Simple Green Clean-Up Award, earned by a driver who "cleans up" at a race by earning the pole position, posting the fastest race lap, leading the most laps and winning the race, is worth $2,500 per race and rolls over if there is no "clean sweep" winner. At the Detroit Johnson Controls 100, the Simple Green Clean-Up Award is worth $12,500, and if not paid will build to $15,000 for Cleveland. Simple Green will double the available bonus at the Simple Green Trans-Am 100, offering $30,000 to a driver who "cleans-up" in Cleveland, creating the potential for the largest single race-winner payout (approximately $50,000) in series history. "We're very excited about our involvement with the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series, and we wanted to make sure that the Simple Green Trans-Am 100 is a special and memorable race for the drivers and fans," said Mark Carter, Simple Green Director of Marketing. By adding $15,000 to the Simple Green Clean-Up Award bonus we've created the potential for the biggest winner's purse ever, and that is sure to make for an entertaining race with a spectacular finish." Additionally, Simple Green has extended the Clean-Up Award at Cleveland to any driver who qualifies in the Simple Green Trans-Am 100 Fast Five. Although the $30,000 payout will be offered only to the pole qualifier, a driver that qualifies at Cleveland in the second through fifth position, and then goes on to post the fastest race lap, lead the most laps and win the race will win a $15,000 bonus. If the Simple Green Clean-Up Award is won at Detroit, the Cleveland bonus will be worth $17,500 to a driver who "cleans-up" from the pole, and $15,000 to a driver who "cleans-up" from a second through fifth-place qualifying position. "Simple Green's increased bonus for Cleveland is, well, simply terrific," said John Clagett, BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series Executive Director. "Making a clean sweep this season has proven to be a very difficult task, and it's great that Simple Green has created a truly special bonus for a driver who accomplishes this feat."
