(June 28, 2000) Cleveland, Ohio, the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, hosts the arrival of round 6 of the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series this weekend. Burke Lakefront Airport is the site for this spectacular venue on the Trans-Am Series circuit, with beautiful downtown Cleveland on one side, and a gorgeous view of Lake Erie running along side the track.

The Banner Racing team, along with driver Leighton Reese (Minnetonka, MN) are very excited about heading to this venue. This is a course that wasn't on the schedule for the Trans-Am Series last year. It has been ran in years past, however, sharing the weekend with the CART teams just as this year.

The circuit is a temporary road course measuring 2.106 miles, that was reconfigured in 1997 and has remained the same since. This configuration makes gearing and brakes a very important issue. There is an expected attendance of approximately 150,000 people that will be at this race over the weekend.

Qualifying will take place on Friday at 6:45 PM est. Round 6 of the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series, The Simple Green 100, will commence at 4:45 PM est on Saturday, July 1. The race will be aired on the Speedvision Network on Saturday, July 8 at Noon.
