Davit Kajaia and Dusan Borkovic, the two drivers that have already collected so far three wins with the Italian cars
With the summer break now over, Romeo Ferraris is ready to dive again on the scene of the closely-fought TCR International Series. Following the closure at Oschersleben of the European part of the season, the Alfa Romeo Giuliettas TCR built by the Opera-based engineering will take the track in the Asian speedway of Buriram, Thailand, as always under the banner of GE-Force.
Davit Kajaia and Dusan Borkovic, the two drivers that have already collected so far three wins with the Italian cars, are eager to shine and conquer heavy points on a circuit that will be more favorable to the Giuliettas than the Hungaroring and Oschersleben. Currently, the Serbian is seventh in the standings with 82 points, while the Georgian lies in 11th position with 61 points having scored again points in Germany.
Already last year, despite some bad luck, the Alfa Romeo Giulettas TCR by Romeo Ferraris showed great potential in Thailand. They will have now the possibility to measure the progress made by the Italian engineering, which hasn’t ceased to work even during the summer.
It will be a tight weekend, with activity concentrated over two days: free practice and qualifying on Saturday, and both Race 1 and 2 on Sunday.
Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
"The Thai round is certainly an interesting one, on track and outside of it. After the summer break, where we have continued working on the development of the cars, we are eager to restart and check the progress made over the last 12 months. On paper, Buriram should suit our cars and together with our drivers, we are hopeful to get some good results”.
