Huff, 37, will partner team regular Jean-Karl Vernay in the team’s second Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

The Briton made his debut with the team month in a one-off appearance in the TCR Benelux series, sharing a car with Vernay during the weekend. The pair scored four podiums on Sunday and took a substantial points haul from the weekend, but there are currently no plans for further outings in the Belgian series.

Huff will, however, be back behind the wheel of the Golf GTI for seven of the remaining eight races in the TCR International Series, supporting Vernay’s bid for the championship, with the Frenchman leading the standings by a point after two races.

“It’s fantastic to join Leopard Racing Team WRT in this year’s TCR International Series,” said Huff.

“The deal came after the Benelux race event, which was a success despite having to discover a new team, a new car and category.

"I had a great time getting to know the team last weekend at Spa, and I think we’re going to have a great rest of the season together.

"TCR is also a brilliant championship to be involved in. There’s a lot of future touring car talent rising up through there, and also great door-to-door racing. As the levels of the cars are balanced, it's a lot less about the car but the driver."

Huff will miss the Monza round that follows after Spa due to clashing commitments in the WTCC with Munnich Motorsport.
