(LAKE PERRIS, CA OCTOBER 14, 2001) Due to opening day of the annual Farmer's Fair on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, there will be no racing at Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night.
Racing will return to the popular Riverside County half-mile clay oval on Saturday October 27th. Headlining the card that evening will be the Ramona Tire PASSCAR Stock Cars and the final 2001 appearance of the zany Pick-A-Part Cruisers. Racing will start at 5:00 PM (that is two hours earlier than normal) on the 27th and admission is free with a ticket to the fair.
The field for the November 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sixth Annual Budweiser/Temecula Valley Pipe and Supply Oval Nationals at The PAS continues to receive entries from stars from around the USA. Among the heavy hitters already entered in the $25,000.00 to win event are SCRA's Cory Kruseman, Rip Williams, Richard "The Gassman" Griffin, Tony Jones and "Super" Rickie Gaunt. USAC will be represented by Arizona's J.J.Yeley, Indiana's Tracy Hines & Tony Elliott and California's Jay Drake and Bud Kaeding. Twenty-four time Northern California Champion Brent Kaeding will be peeling his top wing off for the race as will 2000 Chico Champion Jason York and Gilroy's Eric Rossi. Former NASCAR Winston Cup driver Brad Noffsinger, who resides in North Carolina, is another early entry in the Oval Nationals. The top Non Wing racer in Arizona the past two seasons, "Bullet" Bob Ream, will also be in the hunt for the twenty-five grand.
In addition to paying the largest first place prize money in Non Wing Sprint Car Racing, the Oval Nationals are the final round of the prestigious Non Wing World Championship Series.
