Wofford & Ruch win RAMS Mini Stock features
FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 1, 2003) Dave "The Wolf" Wofford of Farmington and Rick Ruch of Perryville both captured Racing Association of Mini Stock (RAMS) Point Series feature wins this past weekend.
On Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Wofford picked up his victory by edging out Jeff Bullock in the feature. Bill Nickelson was third with Marty Boyer fourth and Mike Myer fifth. They were followed by Jason Brewington, Kevin Buckley, Chuck White, Brian Cox and Jason Harper.
Wofford won the first heat race with Jon Paul Reando taking second and Nickelson third. Ruch won the second heat with Bullock taking second and Buckley third.
Rick Ruch of Perryville was a triple crown winner (winning his heat race, the dash and the feature) on Sunday at the Fredericktown Raceway during the Fredericktown Azalea Racefest. Ruch held off Marty Boyer of Potosi in the feature to pick up the win. Boyer finished in second place with Mike Myer of Sikeston third, Kevin Buckley of Park Hills fourth and Wes Kintz of Piedmont was fifth. They were followed by Dave Wofford, Bill Nickelson, Brian Cox, Jason Harper and Mike Henderson.
Ruch won the first heat race with Buckley second and Jon Paul Reando third. Boyer won the second heat with Wofford second and Nickelson third. Ruch won the dash with Boyer second and Buckley third.
Wofford is the current points leader in the RAMS Points Series, but only by one point over Boyer. This Friday night the RAMS will have another point series race at the Fredericktown Raceway before heading out to Auto Tire & Parts/NAPA Racepark in Benton on June 28th.
