VERNON, NY- In an attempt to allow more Pure Stock or Street Stock competitors an opportunity to compete in the special $400 to win Pure Stock special on September 12, Utica-Rome Speedway officials have opened the rules to include Pure Stocks from other DIRT sanctioned speedways in the area.

Under normal rules, competitors from such tracks as Canandaigua and Cayuga County are ineligible to compete at Utica-Rome Speedway due to some minor rule differences. For the September 12 event, if a competitor is legal at a DIRT sanctioned speedway, they would be legal for this event. This would open the event to racers from such track as Canandaigua, Cayuga County, Genesee, Afton, and more.

Also competing on September 12 on Gates-Cole Insurance night will be a 40-lap $2500 to win DIRT 358-Modified race, the Sunoco Race Fuels Combined Super DIRT Series for the Sportsman, plus the $400 to win Pure Stock race. Gates will open at 2 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m. A Victoria 200 All-Star Race spot will be given to the winner of the 358-Modified event. For more information, please call the speedway at (315) 829-4557 or log on to www.uticaromespeedway.com.
