Month of July starts hot summer stretch of racing at Utica-Rome Speedway.
VERNON, NY -- The 41st anniversary season of stock car racing excitement at Utica-Rome Speedway continues during the month of July at the popular half mile oval on Route 5 in Vernon. Scheduled are four action packed race programs, with gates opening at 4pm and racing beginning at 6pm.
The month begins with a bang on Sunday July 7 with the Independence Spectacular featuring Twin 20's for the Sportsman divison plus a regular show of 358-Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks on Federated Auto Parts Night. Also planned is the second appearance of the season by the Northeast Extreme Freestyle Motocross Series. After the races, a gigantic fireworks display will be held to celebrate our nation's independence.
Sunday July 14 will feature the return of the popular One on One Spectator races plus the 358-Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks. On Sunday July 21, the Sportsman division will compete in Twin 20's once again, the first feature being the rain delayed event from June 16. Also in action will be the 358-Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks on Nice N' Easy Grocery Shoppes Night.
Sunday July 28 will close out the month with the popular Family Autograph Night featuring 358-Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks. Den Kelly Chevrolet will sponsor the final event at Utica-Rome in July.
You can be a part of the "Fastest Family Fun in Central New York" this summer at the Utica-Rome Speedway, a Sunday family tradition in the Mohawk Valley that produces some of the most exciting three and four wide racing of the entire 26-track DIRT Motorsports circuit. Weekly Sunday evening racing action runs from May until mid September, and racing is completed usually by 10pm to allow people time to go home and prepare for the week ahead.
The track is located just east of the village of Vernon on Route 5 and is easily accessible from New York State Thruway Exit 33. Free parking and overnight camping is allowed on speedway grounds.
