USARacing ANNOUNCES TELEVISION PARTNERS FOR 2009
Concord, NC -- March 20, 2009 - A new television contract, which will ensure a higher profile for the USARacing Pro Cup Series in 2009, was announced today by Series officials and new broadcast partners Masters TV, Inc., and Fox Sports Net.
The fourteen-race schedule will be carried on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday mornings on FSN stations. Masters TV of Bristol, TN will produce the programs which will feature action covered by four on-track cameras, five in-car cameras and one in-pit camera.
"I am extremely pleased to announce that our television package for 2009 will provide our fans with the best coverage of our events ever," said USARacing's Executive Vice President, Larry Camp. "Butch McCall is an old friend and he really came through for us with expanded coverage, a guaranteed, enhanced time slot and a great broadcast partner in Fox Sports Net.'
In recent years, the Pro Cup Series races have been aired on weekday afternoons on Versus and a variety of cable channels. The new package will guarantee fans the knowledge that the series will be aired on consecutive weeks for the regular season and the four-race championship run. "Our fans will know when our races are going to air and our stakeholders -- our sponsors and teams -- will have the assurance of increased viewership and better ratings," Camp added.
"We are tremendously excited about the opportunity to partner with USARacing so that we can showcase some of the best short track racing in America," McCall noted. "The new ownership of this Series has proven to us their commitment to excellence and the growth of the Series. We look forward to helping them accomplish both of those goals. We know our partners at FSN feel the same way," he added.
Final dates and time slots will be announced to the public in the near future. USARacing Pro Cup Series' season debut will be at Concord (NC) Speedway on April 4.
