SPEED Channel and the Hooters Pro Cup Series to partner for seventh consecutive season

Longs, SC - In recent months, the Hooters Pro Cup Series has hit an unprecedented growth spurt. High-profile drivers and sponsors are aligning with the premier short-track series at a record pace, setting the stage for a banner year.

Ironically, SPEED Channel, which has been home to the Hooters Pro Cup Series for six years, is seeing similar expansion, adding over 30 million viewers in the last four years.

In 2005, the expanding entities will continue their partnership for a seventh consecutive year, bringing all 30 Hooters Pro Cup races to 65 million households around the country. But in 2005, the series will no longer continue to be the 'best kept secret in motorsports.'

SPEED Channel will showcase the Hooters Pro Cup Series during the prime-time hours of its highest-rated night during the 2005 season, moving the tape-delayed broadcast to 10 p.m. EST on Saturday nights.

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to include the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series in the 2005 SPEED Channel weekend racing schedule," said SPEED Channel President Jim Liberatore. "By far, SPEED Channel's largest racing audiences are attached to weekend viewing hours, so getting another quality series for fans to enjoy should benefit both SPEED and the Hooters Pro Cup Series."

SPEED Channel's audience on Saturday nights doubles when compared to the Thursday night time slot the Hooters Pro Cup Series occupied during the 2004 season. In addition, with strong lead-in programming from the Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Live, the Hooters Pro Cup Series will be in front of more viewers than ever before.

"From a series standpoint, we want to be in as front of as many fans as we can," said Gene Cox, USAR President. "We believe the increased Nielsen Ratings that SPEED Channel experiences on Saturday nights will expose millions of new viewers to our product. By adding more viewers, our drivers will become household names, our sponsors will have heightened representation, and our series will continue to thrive in 2005."

After the initial broadcast, SPEED Channel will rebroadcast each event at 12 p.m. EST on the following Friday in conjunction with the "Lunch at Hooters" promotion.

In addition to broadcasting two airings of each event during the 2005 season, SPEED Channel will also air the "Hooters Pro Cup Series 2005 Preview Special." The special will air at 9 p.m. on March 12 as a lead-in to the initial airing of the Naturally Fresh 250 presented by Crane Cams from USA Int'l Speedway.

Comcast Sports Southeast, Urban America Television and the Sunshine Network will continue to carry the Hooters Pro Cup Series during the 2005 season. Dates and times of the airings on the regional networks will be announced in the near future.
