Pittsboro, NC (February 25, 2002) What a Birthday for Andrew Medlin! Although Medlin and the Premiere Motorsports Team didn't capture a win at the USAR Hooters ProCup Series, Southern series race on Sunday, February 24, 2002, he did capture the hearts of many fans in the grandstands! During driver introductions, as Medlin's name was announced the crowd went wild as many stood sporting their #8 blue Aneco hats!

After a long weekend of rain and delays, the race finally went on at 2:00 at the USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL. Medlin was in high spirits as he began his first race of the season and not to mention has first race in the series as he started in the 11th position. Medlin had a pretty consistent run up until lap 90 when he spun out in turn three and the #8 Aneco car stalled for 2 laps until returning to the race. With a positive return Medlin stepped it up to finish the race but with 6 laps to go the #8 car ran out of gas. Andrew said following the race, " I'm pleased with my performance today besides the two incidents and have learned a lot from today's race. I'm also glad I had so many people behind me!"

Medlin will hit the track again at Five Flags Speedway, March 16, 2002 with one race under his belt and ready to take on any obstacle that gets in his way!!!
