HUDSON, NC -- "Super" Mario Gosselin spread the mustard over the 32-car starting field of the State Fair Brand Corn Dogs 250, as he piloted the W.J. Plemons Risk Management Chevrolet to his fifth victory this season, in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series at Tri-County Motor Speedway.

Starting from his fifth Discount Auto Parts Pole position of the year, Gosselin rocketed into the lead at the start and held the field at bay for the first 101 circuits of the race. After relinquishing the lead to Series point leader Bobby Gill, the Lake Wales, FL, resident charged to take the lead back on lap 120 after dropping to tenth following a pit stop and never looked back, going on to collect his fifth Lucas Oil Halfway Leader Bonus this season.

"This is a real tribute to how hard this W.J. Plemons Risk Management/DGM Motorsports Chevrolet team works," said Gosselin. "I really have to thank the guys on the team for doing an awesome job with the car, Billy Hess for a great chassis and Automotive Specialists for some outstanding engines."

Gosselin's domination moves him to second in the Hooters ProCup Series points standings, just 44 points behind Gill. He led for a total 232 laps with a 1.38-second margin of victory over runner-up Michael Ritch. The State Fair Brand Corn Dogs 250 victory marks Gosselin's 15th career victory in 41 starts with a .365-winning percentage.

Michael Ritch made an attempt to catch Gosselin in the closing stages of the 250-lap event.

"I really wanted to get the Jackaroo Sauces Chevrolet close enough to play with Mario, said Ritch. "We just did not have anything for him. I'm just really glad that we were able to finish the race this week without tearing anything up. We should have made up some lost ground in the points."

Ritch was able to move back into the fifth position in the standings, 352 points behind the leader and only 167 points behind fourth place Mike Laughlin, Jr.

Laughlin started the State Fair Brand Corn Dogs 250 24th in the Valenite Ford Taurus but was able to drive his way to a third-place finish and collect the W.J. Plemons Hard Charger Award.

"We didn't have anything for Mario," said Laughlin. "I'm glad that we were able to get up to the front as good as we did after our run of luck earlier today."

The Laughlin Racing Products Team had to go to a back up engine before qualifying after something broke in the primary motor during practice and sent the team scrambling to get it replaced.

"After we got the engine replaced we developed an ignition problem and had to work on that too," said Laughlin.

Gill retains the Series points lead after posting a fourth-place finish in the event in the Naturally Fresh Foods Ford Taurus. Gill was the only other driver to earn points for leading the race.

Mardy Lindley will cash in a $1,000 check for being the Miller Lite Rookie of the Race. Lindley's Aloe Lu Ya Pontiac finished 10th, putting himself 47 points in front of Steve Christian for the $10,000 Miller Lite Rookie of the Year Challenge.
