USAR RETURNS TO AMERICA'S OLDEST CITY FOR SECOND ROUND OF OVAL ACTION

FAYETTEVILLE, GA -- Be ready to rumble on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. as the United Speed Alliance Racing Hooters ProCup Series returns to St. Augustine Speedway for the Lucas Oil Products 250 presented by Prosperity Bank. With only two races left in the 20-race $1.5 million Series, points positions are still up for grabs and the stars and cars of the USAR will be out to settle some issues on this outstanding half-mile oval in America's oldest city.

Current USAR Hooters ProCup Series points leader Bobby Gill, piloting his No. 5 Naturally Fresh Foods Ford Taurus, will be facing 35 other contenders for the winners share of $81,750 in posted awards.

But for many drivers, there is more at stake than going home with a win. Gill currently leads Jay Fogleman by 220 points, while Steven Christian leads Mardy Lindley by 188 points in the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year race. Other hotly contested battles that continue to rage throughout the remaining top-20 points positions have as many as eleven positions in jeopardy of changing hands. So while drivers are jockeying to better their positions on the racetrack the underlying motivation is to better their position closer to the head table at the end of season banquet.

Race fans should prepare themselves for close-quarters racing that begins with the Discount Auto Parts Pole Qualifying at 4:30 p.m. Thirty-two drivers will make the race on time and four provisional spots will complete the starting grid.

Race fans will be invited down on to the racing surface for an autograph session with the stars of the Hooters ProCup Series on the front-stretch at 6 p.m. And then the most famous words in motorsports will send thirty-six 3400-lbs steel-bodied stock cars thundering down the front stretch for the start of the Lucas Oil Products 250 presented by Prosperity Bank at 7 p.m.

Following the 250-lap affair, the Rick's Muffler Modifieds will take to the track for a 25-lap event that will effectively close out the 1999 St. Augustine Speedway racing season.

Grandstand gates will be opening at 12 noon for Hooters ProCup practice and race fans are invited to come early for the best seats.
