KENLY, N.C. - Driver Shane Huffman had to battle the heat and humidity, as well as his fellow competitors, for a third place finish Sunday in the rain postponed Bryant 250 at Southern National Speedway. The finish was Huffman's seventh top-five in eight starts and extends his lead in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series South points.

Huffman started fourth and looked poised to bring home his third consecutive victory after catching and passing pole sitter Jason Sarvis to lead at the halfway mark. After pitting on lap 136, the Hickory, N.C. driver emerged from a crowded pit road in third before moving past Steven Christian into second. Huffman ultimately came home third behind Sarvis and Mardy Lindley.

"I felt like we had the best car today," said Huffman, "I just got into the wall on the backstretch after the last restart and it looks like we bent something in the rear end."

"This is as bad as I've ever felt after a race," Huffman continued, "both physically, from the heat, and for the guys. They gave me another great race car and I feel like I let them down today."
