SOUTH BOSTON, VA. -- The stars and cars of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series will invade the four-tenths mile South Boston Speedway oval Saturday for the running of the Greased Lightning 250.

The Greased Lightning 250 is slated to get the green flag at 7 p.m.

In addition to the 250-lap race for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drivers, a 110-lap race will also be held for the drivers in the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division. That race will be run after the conclusion of the Greased Lightning 250.

Among the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series competitors expected to take the green flag for the Greased Lightning 250 will be former competitor Woody Howard of Chesapeake, Va. Howard had much success at South Boston Speedway last season in the Late Model Stock Car ranks and hopes to be one of the contenders for a victory Saturday night.

Pit gates for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series competitors will open at 8:30 a.m. and practice for the drivers will get underway at 11 a.m.

The Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division drivers will enter the pit gates at 1 p.m. and, following a practice session, will take to the track for qualifying time trials at 3:30 p.m.

Qualifying for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drivers will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by an on-track autograph session at 5:45 p.m.

Reserved seats are available for Saturday's event at a price of $30. Adult general admission is $15 if purchased at the speedway prior to 5 p.m. Friday. Adult general admission price will be $20 Saturday. Fans can also receive $5 off admission price by showing any ticket stub from racing action scheduled this weekend at neighboring Martinsville Speedway. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $10 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.

Tailgating spots along the backstretch at the speedway are available on a weekly basis. The tailgating area will be open for cars and trucks. Grills and unlimited size coolers will be available in the tailgating area, which will open when registration begins for competitors on race days. The cost for the tailgating spot is $10, plus admission price.
