DANNY JACKSON UNFORTUNATE AT SHENANDOAH SPEEDWAY
Possible Top Ten Finish Slips Away For Rookie
CINCINNATI, OH (May 7, 2007) Rookie Danny Jackson finished a disappointing 17th at Shenandoah Speedway, VA on May 3rd in his second start in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series. Jackson was running in the top 15 with five laps to go in the 250-lap race when he was collected in a wreck on the front stretch involving fellow Rookie Ben Stancil. Jackson?s car was heavily damaged and could not finish the race.
Jackson pitted around lap 200 and took on fresh tires, but was penalized for a pit stop rules violation. That sent Jackson to the back of the longest line. Jackson was battling his way through lapped traffic when the incident occurred in front of him.
?I was extremely disappointed with the finish. We had a great race put together and I would have liked to walk out of here with a top 10 finish. We have a lot of work, but we?ll look ahead to the next race and focus on getting a decent finish.?
Jackson qualified 21st to start the Farmer?s Foods 250 race. Practice was cut short due to the weather and drivers were only given one lap to qualify. Jackson has a lot of work to get the Redbank Transport/Tri-State Sterling/Lykins Companies/Ultra Lube/Beamer Brothers Trucking Chevy ready for the next race on May 26th at Madison, WI.
Jackson and his team showed support for those at Virginia Tech along with several other drivers at Shenandoah Speedway. The Hooters Pro Cup Series also showed its support by giving all drivers a decal to place on the cars and beginning the events with a prayer.
The Shenandoah race can be seen on SPEED Channel on Wednesday, May 16th at 4:00 pm and Friday, May 18th at 12:00 pm
