Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Shane Huffman and Team Johnsonville Racing posted a season's best 12th place finish after an impressive run in the Hooters 250, held Saturday night at Myrtle Beach Speedway. After keeping the Johnsonville Ford Taurus in the top 5 for much of the evening, Huffman slowed late in the race after experiencing mechanical trouble.

"With about 35 laps to go, the engine started skipping and I thought, 'You've got to be kidding,'" said Shane. "It looks like we broke a rocker arm, so we're relieved (the motor) made it to the finish, but we had one of the best cars out there tonight; we just can't catch a break."

Huffman started 32nd and struggled early until making a chassis adjustment during a yellow flag stop on lap 86. Following a scheduled pit stop under caution at lap 100, Shane sat in 22nd position. From there, Huffman was riding a rocket ship, moving up 12 spots in just 20 laps to run 10th, advancing to 4th by lap 146, and moving into the lead on lap 158, where he paced the field for the next 26 laps.

"We were set up for the track to really loosen up on older tires, and we made a chassis adjustment during that first stop that didn't hurt any," said crew chief Gene Leicht. "Shane drove a great race, we just need to get him to the finish."

Huffman and Team Johnsonville are looking to build on the momentum they have gained in the last two races, moving up 7 positions and currently 52 points out of the top 20 in the USAR Series standings, as well as jumping 2 spots and sitting just 2 points out of the top 10 in the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year race. They will be testing this week at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia, site of the next event on the Hooters Pro Cup Series.

The timing could not be better for new sponsor Arnold's Meats, as the Bensalem, Pennsylvania pork producer, a part of parent company Family Food Products, announces their alliance with driver Shane Huffman and the #84 Johnsonville Racing Team as an associate sponsor. They join current sponsors Jennie-O Turkey, Cangelosi Meatballs, Triton Water, and Computerwise in pledging their support of Shane, the team and their efforts in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series.
