STUART, Va. -- Jon Wood heads to Concord Motorsports Park for this weekend's Hooters ProCup main event. The season has just three races remaining and Wood has some unfinished business to conclude.

"When we started the season I sat down and made a list of things I wanted to accomplish," stated Wood. "The first goal was to run competitively every week. The second goal was to be in contention to win Rookie of the Year. I also wanted to win a few poles and at least one race.

"We only have three races left and I've accomplished most of those goals. I've won a couple of poles and we're in the hunt for Rookie of the Year. We've had a car good enough to run in the top-10 every week. We haven't finished in the top-10 every week but everyone knows that is how racing goes. There are some things that happen that's out of the team's and driver's hands. We haven't won a race yet but I'm hoping to change that before the year is over."

Wood tested his No. 116 Ford Motorcraft Quality Parts Taurus at Concord in preparation for this weekend's race. He also utilized a recent addition to the Wood Brothers Winston Cup entry, Neil Perkins. Perkins accompanied Wood to the test session and will also be on-hand for this weekend's race.

"Neil brings a lot to the table and he's awesome at making the car more comfortable," stated Wood. "He has a lot of experience and if we can shake the bad luck we've hand in the past couple of months I believe we'll have a car capable of winning this weekend."

Jon Wood and his Motorcraft Quality Parts Taurus will compete at Hickory Motor Speedway on October 28, 2000. The 250-lap main event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
