Salem Speedway to Host Hooters ProCup Series

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- Salem Speedway is known as a speedway that offers non-stop action packed racing for its competitors and fans. This will be the case when the USAR Hooters ProCup Series makes its third visit to the high-banked track in southern Indiana on June 12 for the running of the BFGoodrich Tires 250 presented by 95.7 WQMF & 97.5 WAMZ.

Indiana native Brian Ross returns as the only previous race winner entered for the event. Last year's winner, Hal Goodson, is not scheduled to compete in Northern Division races this season. Ross edged veteran Charlie Ford, who collected his career-best finish at Salem in 2002, for the win in 2002 and finished sixth in last year's race.

"I have always enjoyed running Salem," said Ross. "We had a great car out there and we look forward to going back and seeing if we can get our second win there."

Veteran Glenn Gault has enjoyed top-10 finishes in both previous races at Salem Speedway and coming off of a top-10 finish at Lonesome Pine Raceway several weeks ago, recorded his best career finish at Salem when he finished a third in 2001. Gault is one of four drivers expected to compete at Salem who have finished in the top-10 in both races previously held at Salem Speedway.

Danny Sammons, who is still searching for his first career win in the Series after several closes chances at reaching victory lane, has finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

Another driver who has finished in the top-10 in the two previous races is former Series champion Jeff Agnew. Agnew, who finished eighth in 2002 and third last season, enters this weekend eager to return to victory lane.

"We have had a good car so far this year and hopefully we will be able to put our NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour Chevrolet in victory lane soon," said Agnew.
