Cerro Gordo, NC - Ricky Benton Racing announced today that HeavyTruckDealers.com would be the primary sponsor of the No. 22 Ford and driver, Matt Carter. HeavyTruckDealers.com a division of HTAEW.com, (Heavy Truck and Equipment Wholesales.com) is a dealers' only listing service, connecting buyers and sellers of wholesale trucks.
Terry Hebron, president of HeavyTruckandEquipmentWholesalers.com and HeavyTruckDealers.com states, "HeavyTruckDealers.com makes it possible for individual buyers of heavy-duty trucks to access a comprehensive database of equipment for sale, without having to jump from website to website. We have over 1,000 dealer members at HTAEW.com, and this website has been created for them to be able to offer retail inventory to the public. We are all very excited to market our website along with RBR Enterprises and Matt Carter. We feel that racing is a good fit to market our services to the trucking market."
In 2003, Matt Carter won the Hickory Motor Speedway track championship, finishing sixth in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series Atlantic Region standings. In 19 starts, he had 19 top-five finishes, 3 poles, and 2 wins.
Carter's racing career began in 2000. The past two seasons he has raced in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series with a couple of starts in both the UARA Series and the USAR Hooters ProCup Series. Carter finished ninth in his first USAR start at USA International Speedway. He also competed in one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, qualifying 14th and finishing 17th.
RBR Motorsports with crew chief, Mike Hester and driver, Jason Sarvis won the 2002 USAR Hooters ProCup championship; and with driver, Charles Powell won the 1998 Myrtle Beach Speedway track championship, the Atlantic Seaboard Region Championship, and finished 4th in the nation.
Carter, son of former Winston Cup team owner, Travis Carter, will compete for the 2004 Rookie of the Year title as well as the top prize, USAR Hooters Pro Cup Championship. The new car will be unveiled at Lakeland, Florida for the initial outing of the 2003 USAR Series on February 28.
