The win was the second win of the season and 14th career win for defending two-time USAR Hooters ProCup Series champion Bobby Gill. Gill collected $11,000 with the win.

In 43 career starts in the Hooters ProCup Series, Gill has won over $650,000 in purse and points fund awards.

This was the first-ever Hooters ProCup Series race at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.

Bobby Gill has two wins in the Prestigious Snowball Derby Late Model race held at Five Flags Speedway (1993 & 1997).

Shane Huffman won the Lance Snacks Pole Award and led the first 45 laps of the race and remained in the top five all night until battery problems forced him to pit. Huffman recovered to finish 14th.

John Kinder, the only Japanese-American currently competing on a touring series in the United States scored his best finish of the season in 6th.

The race was race #3 on the 2001 USAR Hooters ProCup Series' Southern Division schedule. The Series will also hold Northern Division races this season. The first race in the Northern Division will be held on April 21st at Jennerstown Speedway.

Gill has led 228 laps so far in 2001.

USAR Rookie competitor Toby Robertson is the son of the late T. Wayne Robertson of Sports Marketing Enterprises.

Danny Sammons of Trenton, New Jersey drove the lone Dodge in the race finishing 32nd after motor problems ended his night on lap 23.
