Sarvis wins race, leads championship standings.

** USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series: Jason Sarvis dominated the Dan Duncan Memorial Naturally Fresh Dressings 250 at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Ga. and shook up the championship standings with one race remaining in the 2002 season.

Goodyear is the sole tire provider for this Series.

Sarvis not only won the 250-lap race around the half-mile venue, he won the Buffalo Nickel Buffalo Burger Pole Award and took over the lead in the championship standings. The victory was the fourth of Sarvis' career. All four wins have come this season. He won the pole for a record setting eighth time this year.

Sarvis's margin of victory over the second-place finisher, former champ Hal Goodson, was an impressive 3.374 seconds. Defending champion Bobby Gill finished third, rookie Brian Ross was fourth and Steve Christian was fifth.

Clay Rogers, who started the weekend with the points lead, finished 28th after crashing on the 104th lap. Rogers fell to third in the championship standings.

As the teams prepare for the season finale, Nov. 30 at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla., Sarvis leads the standings with 713 points. Christian is second with 665, Rogers is third with 650. Gill is fourth with 639 tallies and Jay Fogleman is next with 637.

Sarvis' win at Peach State gave him two straight victories. He has won twice this season at USA International.
