Lake Erie Speedway added to 2004 Schedule
Myrtle Beach, SC -- United Speed Alliance Racing and Lake Erie Speedway have reached a tentative agreement to add a date to the 2004 Hooters ProCup Series schedule. The race will be held as a "Northern Division" race, which will complete the regular season part of the schedule for the division.
"We are very excited to be racing at Lake Erie Speedway next year," said USAR Director of Operations Tony Cox. "Not only is this a state-of-the-art facility, but its geographic location fits our competitors and marketing partners perfectly. We feel our brand of short track racing will give the fans an exciting experience."
Lake Erie Speedway just completed its first full season of racing and will host the Hooters ProCup Series on Saturday night June 19, 2004. The 250-lap race will feature over 30 of the best short track drivers from across the country, battling on the challenging 3/8-mile track. The Hooters ProCup Series event will also feature live pit stops with each team changing a minimum of two tires during the race.
This is the third year of the unique two-division format the Hooters ProCup Series uses to give drivers in each division an equal chance to challenge for the lion's share of the $1,000,000-plus national championship points fund. Lake Erie Speedway will host one of 12 regular season events for the Northern Division drivers.
