Engine part failure relegates Puryear to 9th place finish.

The Stacy Puryear Motorsports Team finished a 3-race Florida swing with another top ten finish. Stacy started 8th and finished 9th with an ailing engine.

"We broke a rocker arm shaft on the 6th lap of the race and we were very fortunate to finish the race," stated Puryear. "Much less get a top ten out of it. Billy Banks builds a strong and very reliable engine. We had talked about replacing the part right after this race in the rebuild.

"With the top ten finish, we are able to remain 2nd in the point standings. I am very proud of the team. We made numerous pit stops trying to locate the problem and fix it. The high atrition rate helped us get this finish but we could have very easily been one of them.

"I look very forward to going to Ace Speedway. It's one of my better race tracks and we always run good there.

"We are going to have the Sons of the American Legion Squad 8 from South Boston, VA on board with us for that race and look forward to having a good run for them and Bryant Heating and Cooling."
