Kinder Moving Up!

July 7, 2001 Montgomery, Alabama: USAR Pro Cup driver John Kinder, is moving up fast! His 5th place finish at Montgomery this last weekend, has improved his stats substantially.

Entering the Montgomery race Kinder, statistics for the season stood at an average qualifying position of 15th and average finish of 17th, but, the last three races he has earned an average starting position of 11th and 11th in average finishing position for a 60%+ improvement. The 5th place finish will also move him up in the overall point standings. Clearly the Greenville based team is moving in the right direction.

" The guys gave me a good car to run at Montgomery. Although we are still a little down in the engine department, the car handled very good all night. I just cannot say enough about all the dedication and hard work, the crew does to keep us racing. With no primary sponsor, it is tough. The crew works on a volunteer basis with no compensation, and few dollars to even pay for lodging so, they commute. This trip had to be really tough on the crew as they departed the shop Friday night, arrived in Montgomery about 10 PM then bunked down 4 to a room, for a few hours and were at the track when the gates opened at 8 AM. Then, they worked a full day in the Alabama heat and man was is hot, and after the races drove over 350 miles home arriving back in Greenville at 5 AM! That is dedication and I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate their support. Without them, I would not be able to race" Kinder said.

" It was great to see the team finish in the top 5, and it is just a matter of time before John and the crew sit in victory lane." Said Jim Kinder, father of the young driver who hails from Santa Ana, California.

Next race July 21, Radford, Virginia. The Montgomery race will be televised Thursday July 12 at 9 PM eastern on Speedvision.
