McFarland Eyeing Mansfield

Mooresville, NC- Mark McFarland has been saying all year how much he loves Mansfield Motorsport Speedway.

After a strong, sixth-place showing in last year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the Ohio half-mile, it is easy to see why.

When the Mansfield 250 gets under way Saturday night for the Northern Division of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, look for the No. 32 WINFUEL Chevrolet to be up front.

"I like Mansfield a lot. It's a nice place and really fits my driving style," said McFarland.

"I was fortunate enough to have a good run there in a truck last season. It reminds me a lot of Valdosta (South Georgia Motorsport Park) and we had a good run there earlier this season."

Essentially, this will be the first Northern Division race for the JR Motorsports crew this season because rain washed out qualifying at Jennerstown Speedway two weeks ago, forcing them to sit and watch. Mansfield Motorsport Speedway also hosts a Championship Series event at the end of the year.

Few teams can rival the string of finishes that the JR Motorsports crew has put together recently. Over the last four races their average finish is fourth.

"We've been fortunate lately and we're going to ride this thing to Mansfield and keep plugging along," sounded McFarland.

Tune to the Speed Channel on Saturday, June 18th, for all the fender-banging action from Mansfield Motorsport Speedway.
