FAYETTEVILLE, GA. (January 12, 2000) - Gene Cox, president of United Speed Alliance Racing, announced today a sponsorship agreement has been reached with Lucas Oil Products for the 2000 season in the Hooter's Pro Cup Series.

"We are very excited to have Lucas Oil Products renew its association with USAR," said Cox. "Lucas Oil Products has enjoyed steady growth and great success in the automotive lubricant industry and much like the Hooter's Pro Cup Series, looks forward to more growth and prosperity in the year 2000. We are honored that Lucas Oil Products chose to support the Hooter's Pro Cup Series and USAR."

The company's goal is to reach specialty markets and industries where other products are not meeting their specific needs. Racing is one such market Lucas felt there is a need in the industry for a better lubricant which created the opportunity for an association with USAR.

"Lucas Oil Products is thrilled to support the USAR Hooter's Pro Cup Series for a second season," said Jennifer Saltis, Marketing Director for Lucas Oil. "As the 2000 season fast approaches it becomes increasingly apparent that the series officials take pride in running a first rate operation. Lucas Oil is proud to be a part of such a professional program."

Lucas Oil will sponsor the "Lucas Oil Products Halfway Leader of the Race" which will award a Hooter's Pro Cup Series driver a $1,000 bonus at the halfway point of each scheduled race in 2000. Lucas Oil will also sponsor the Hooter's Pro Cup Series Lucas Oil Products 250 to be held on June 3, 2000 at USA International Speedway which will be televised nationally on the Speedvision cable network. Company officials also announced a renewed sponsorship package with "1999 Hooter's Pro Cup Rookie of the Year" Steven Christian.

Christian, from Buford, Ga., finished fourth in the final 1999 points standings and was the only driver to complete over 5,000 laps in the series. Christian also finished as the top rookie in seven of the 20 events held last year.

"Steven Christian and the entire S & S Motorsport crew are the epitome of the kind of race team Lucas Oil enjoys supporting," adds Saltis. "Not only did they capture the Rookie of the Year title, the Consistency Award and the Crew Chief of the Year Award for the 1999 season, they truly understand and participate in the business side of our sponsorship program. The people of S & S Motorsports have proven to be an excellent asset to the whole Lucas Oil Program."

"Lucas Oil will bring added notoriety to the Hooter's Pro Cup Series," added sponsorship director Bruce Baker. "Lucas Oil Products is committed to the series and our drivers. We feel this agreement will prove to be beneficial for everyone involved."
