Fogleman's feeding frenzy sets tone for season.

Jay "The Short Track Shark" Fogleman went on a feeding frenzy at Lonesome Pine Raceway during the April 26 Food City 250 USAR Hooters ProCup North division event, taking his JFco Motorsports No. 4 Lucas Oil Products Ford to victory lane.

Fogleman proved to the competition that The Shark is one hungry predator, as he quickly worked his way through the field from his 20th starting spot,

leading three times for 97 laps. Not only did he win the race in Coeburn, Va., he also scored the Lucas Oil Products Halfway Leader award, as well as the hard-charger award and five bonus points for leading the most laps.

"The Lucas Oil/JFco Motorsports team worked really hard this week to put

together an awesome racecar - after last week we were definitely ready for Lonesome Pine," said Fogleman.

The preparation showed, as Fogleman clocked the second-fastest time in practice. Within 12 laps of the race The Short Track Shark devoured six competitors, and worked his way to second place by lap 114. On lap 122 Fogleman took the lead. Following a heated battle with Shane Huffman, the veteran racer from Durham, N.C., grabbed the top spot and held it for the final 40 laps.

"We had a great car tonight," said Fogleman, after scoring his seventh ProCup victory. "Our team made a super pit stop, and I hope our Lucas Oil Ford put on a great show for the fans. I enjoyed racing Shane, and I hope the crowd enjoyed the excitement."

The race, which will air on Speed Channel at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, helped set the tone for a title-winning run in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series by propelling Fogleman from 24th to fourth in North Division points, only 19 points out of the lead.

Title run or not, Fogleman still has time for causes close to his heart. The No. 4 Lucas Oil Ford driver sponsored two holes in The Arc's Drive for the Green on Monday, April 28, at Treyburn Country Club in Durham, N.C. The

ARC, which works to prevent both the cause and effects of mental retardation in both adults and children, is JFco Motorsports' chosen charity. Fogleman was unable to attend the event due to a testing commitment in Ohio, but will host 10 honorary guests from The Arc when the No. 4 Lucas Oil JFco Motorsports team and The Short Track Shark return to action at Mansfield, Ohio, on May 3.
