FOGLEMAN HEADS TO LAKELAND WITH THE WORKS
Durham, N.C. - Veteran USAR Pro Cup driver, Jay Fogleman has packed up his No. 4 Ford Fusion with his new sponsor, The Works, and is headed down the road to Lakeland, Fla. for the season's first event. His team, JFco Motorsports is ready to hit the track with a new two car team but with the same old perseverance.
"We are looking forward to getting the season started not only for us but for our sponsors, said Fogleman. "Our increased relationship with Greased Lightning and their brand The Works provides us new opportunities to reach fans."
"With Jay we still get the family atmosphere that is important to our brand," commented Craig LaPointe, Event Coordinator for Greased Lightning. "His family is an important part of the team. Last year we watched JFco go beyond the call of duty and maximized our relationship with the fans and that commitment is not easy to find in people."
Fogleman, who leads all active Pro Cup drivers with the most starts, will continue to compete in Pro Cup's Southern Division. This year however, he welcomes Jody Lavender as a teammate. Lavender, a three-year-series-veteran, will drive the familiar Greased Lightning Ford Fusion in the Northern Division. This weekend Lavender will attend Lakeland to be Fogleman's spotter.
"Anymore a two car team makes sense," said Fogleman. "What Jody and I will learn from each other will benefit JFco's efforts towards winning a championship."
Fogleman and teammate Lavender will be involved in Greased Lightning's new program, Clean Team. They will compete with three other drivers from each division for weekly bonus money and a possible $25,000 season end bonus that is based both on performance and on their efforts in marketing and charitable work done on behalf of Greased Lightning and The Works.
"We are racers so we welcome anything that adds to the competition," said Fogleman.
The 2007 USAR Hooters Pro Cup season kicks off at Lakeland, Fla. this Saturday, March 10. SPEED will broadcast the events the Wednesday following the race and again on Friday.
