MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- The USAR Hooters ProCup Series Southern Division returns to its "home track" on Saturday May 31st fore the running of the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Advance Discount Auto Parts. The race will be the second of three regular season visits for the touring series to the fast ¾-mile track located in Lakeland, FL.

Joe Gaita returns to the track where he scored his lone win in the Series. Gaita outdistanced Toby Porter and Steven Christian to score the win in February and looks to defend his win. Stacy Puryear finished fourth and Shane Huffman completed the top five in the season-opening event.

The track has hosted more USAR Hooters ProCup Series races than any other track on the schedule with Bobby Gill holding the record for most wins in the Series at the track with seven. The three-time Series champion also holds the record for most consecutive wins at the track with four.

Gill missed the season-opening race in February still recovering from surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff on his left shoulder. Gill showed two races later at New Smyrna Speedway that he hadn't lost his touch winning the race in just his second race back from the career-threatening surgery.

The Lucas Oil 250 will also be the first race of the year at the track for the 2002 USAR Hooters ProCup Series National Champion Jason Sarvis. Sarvis missed the opening race but is now back with RBR Enterprises and looks to pick up where he left off last year at the track.

Sarvis won two races at the track last year and collected his first-ever win in the Series at this event last year. Sarvis, along with his teammate Christian, look to be a formidable pair when they arrive the last weekend of May.

In addition to the Lucas Oil 250 USAR Hooters ProCup Series race the Signal 12 Motorcycle Stunt Show will also be held Saturday afternoon prior to the start of the race. For ticket information please contact USA International Speedway at 1-800-964-7223.
