Lake Erie Speedway Ready for the Miller Lite 250
Myrtle Beach, SC - United Speed Alliance Racing and Lake Erie Speedway are ready to host the Miller Lite 250 presented by Texas Brand Sauce Saturday night, June 19. This is the first time the beautiful short track will host a "Northern Division" race on the regular season part of the schedule for the division.
"We are very excited to be racing at Lake Erie Speedway next year," said USAR Director of Operations Tony Cox. "Not only is this a state-of-the-art facility but its geographic location fits our competitors and marketing partners perfectly. We feel our brand of short track racing will give the fans an exciting experience."
Lake Erie Speedway just completed its first full season of racing last year and the 250-lap race will feature over 30 of the best short track drivers from across the country as they battle on the challenging 3/8-mile track. The Miller Lite 250 will also feature live pit stops which each team is required to make and change a minimum of two tires during the race.
This is the third year of the unique two division format the Hooters ProCup Series uses to give drivers in each division an equal chance to challenge for the lion's share of the $1 million-plus national championship points fund. Lake Erie Speedway is hosting one of 12 regular season events for the Northern Division drivers.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase the USAR Hooter's Pro Cup Series to the local and regional fans at Lake Erie Speedway," said Lake Erie Speedway General Manager Todd Melfi.
The race will also be a homecoming of sorts for Sam Fullone. Fullone, driver of the #48 Pero Vegetables Chevrolet Monte Carlo has competed in numerous late model races at the track and looks forward to racing at a track he is very familiar with and also close to home.
We look forward to racing there and feel like we can have a good run," said Fullone. "It will also give me a chance to get a lot of family and friends out there to see us race in person."
In addition to the 250-lap Miller Lite race for the Hooters ProCup Series cars, the Allison Legacy Series will also run a 50-lap feature immediately after ProCup qualifying. An autograph session for the fans will begin at 6:45 pm and the Miller Lite 250 is scheduled to begin at 8 pm. For more information please contact Lake Erie Speedway at 814-725-3303.
