Jackson Keeps Head Up After Continued Misfortunes
Cincinnati, OH (July 31, 2007) - It was another day at the office for Danny Jackson at Lake Erie Speedway in Pennsylvania on July 28th. Another day of misfortune and the continued obstacles that Jackson and his team have had to over come in 2007. Jackson qualified 23rd and finished in the 16th position.
Jackson was clearly disappointed after qualifying. He felt he had a better car than what he showed in qualifying and was hoping to get up front by the end of the race. However, that did not happen. The Beamer Brothers/Redbank Transport/Tri-State Sterling/Lykins Companies/Ultra Lube Chevrolet experienced an issue with the left rear wheel causing the lug nuts to become loose. Jackson lost several laps in the pits while the team tended to the issue and was unable to get back on the lead lap.
"It has been unfortunate for this team. We had a group from Beamer Brothers Trucking out of Cincinnati make the trip to see this team race. I wish I could have given them a better show since they drove all that way. I want to thank Todd Beamer and the rest of Beamer Brothers Trucking for all of their support this year. It has been great to have them on board in my first season here in the Hooters Pro Cup series. We just have to continue trying to improve each race," Jackson stated.
Beamer Brothers Trucking and Todd Beamer was the title sponsor of Jackson's #05 Chevrolet at Lake Erie, PA. Beamer Brothers Trucking is a sixth generation Cincinnati company, delivering building materials to job sites throughout greater Cincinnati, Kentucky and Indiana areas. They are also the first company to have a boom in the Cincinnati area.
Although it's been a tough year so far, Jackson has learned a lot and is determined to continue his development as a driver. "I would like to be in contention for every race, but we are limited financially and are competing with a lot of great drivers and established teams," Jackson explained. Jackson continues to thank his entire crew for their efforts week in and week out.
Going forward, Jackson hopes to attend the final Northern Division race at South Boston, VA and the five championship series races. "We will take it one race at a time and see where we are financially," car owner Dave Jackson said.
The race from Lake Erie will be televised on SPEED Channel on Wednesday August 8th at 4:00 pm and Friday August 10th at 12:00 pm.
