JEFFERSON, Ga. (August 7, 2000) -- Jon Wood and his goracing.com Taurus overcame many obstacles at Peach State Speedway to bring home a 10th place finish in the Hooters ProCup Series.

During qualifying Wood brushed the outside retaining wall exiting turn-4, losing valuable speed and yielding a 15th place starting spot. The drop of the green yielded a blistering pace by race leader Chad Chaffin and by races end only six cars remained on the lead lap. Brian Vickers held off the rest of the field to win the 250- lap event.

"This is a solid run for us but it's definitely not what we wanted," stated Wood as he spoke of his top-10 finish. "We want to win races and I'm sure before this season is over we're gonna make it to Victory Lane. Chad (Chaffin) put me a lap down early and things just didn't go our way to get it back. South Boston is next on the schedule and I am confident we'll have a strong car. I've never been to the track before but we are scheduled to test there on Friday."

Jon Wood and the goracing.com Taurus next head to South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia on August 19, 2000. The 250-lap event will be televised nationally by Speedvision on August 25, 2000 at 8:00 p.m.
