Mignogna missed Jennerstown Hooters Pro Cup opener.

GREENSBURG, PA (APR. 13) ........... Jason Mignogna was forced to withdraw from the opening United Speed Alliance Racing (USAR) Hooters Pro Cup opener at the Jennerstown (PA) Speedway Saturday evening, after crashing his 2002 Monte Carlo during a test session earlier in the week.

The 30-year old Greensburg driver was testing at the Motordrome (PA) Speedway Wed. afternoon when a part broke in the rear end sending his car hard into the outside crash wall.

"It was certainly a lousy way to start the year," Mignogna said. "Everything on the car was brand new. We were just shaking it down and "the rear end broke."

While the incident has set the Mignogna Collision Center team back, it won't affect the remainder of the 2003 schedule according to Mignogna.

"We had the car apart the next day and shipped it to the Bill Hess shop for a new front clip," Mignogna added, "we are still shooting to make the May 3 USAR event at the Mansfield (OH) Raceway,"

Mignogna will be looking for a little more luck at a track that gave him his first Iceman Super Car Series win last season. "I got around Mansfield real well in a late model...... hopefully we can find the same groove there with the Hooters Pro Cup car," added Mignogna.
