LAKELAND, FL - Freddie Query will have to wait until Sunday afternoon to attempt capture of his third victory of the year as rain and adverse weather conditions forced the postponement of the Hooters Cup Discount Auto Parts 200 originally scheduled for Saturday night at the ¾ mile high banked USA International Speedway. USA International Speedway President, Bill Martino, said, "We took a direct hit to one of our power transformers. The lightning strike took out our main transformer that services our television lighting system. Without the proper environment, it would have been a disservice to the track, the competitors, the series and ESPN." Query of Mooresville, NC posted the fastest time in qualifying and leads the point standings season in his unsponsored Chevrolet. The USAR Hooters Cup Series is making it’s second stop at the Lakeland track and is joined by the USAR Sportsman cars competing in the Jackaroo 100, also rescheduled for Sunday afternoon. The USA International Speedway is located east of Lakeland at I-4 and SR 33 exit 20. Grandstand gates open at 12 noon and racing begins at 2:00 PM. For further details contact the speedway office at 1-800-984-7223.
