WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., (July 2, 2001) -- As the USAR ProCup Series heads down South to Montgomery, Ala. this weekend, current points leader Hal Goodson will be looking to continue his hot streak of race victories and podium finishes.

Goodson carries a 32-point lead over Bobby Gill heading into the Miller Lite 200 this Saturday night at Montgomery Motor Speedway. In the first nine events on the USAR ProCup Series Southern Division Tour, Goodson has collected two victories, six top-five and eight top-ten finishes in the No. 45 Taylor Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo. In his last four ProCup events, Goodson's lowest finish is a third-place.

"We have been running very consistent recently and each week we've been in contention for the win," Goodson said. "Our strong runs are a result of the hard work by the guys back at the shop. Hopefully we can keep the strong runs going."

After a recent test at the southern Alabama track, Crew Chief Colan Ingle is excited about this weekend's race. "We went down to Montgomery last week and tested for a day and were very pleased with the results," Ingle said. "Hal was very happy with the car and our times were very quick. Hopefully we can back that up with a win this weekend."

USAR ProCup Series qualifying at Montgomery (Ala.) Motor Speedway is scheduled for this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CST. The Miller Lite 200 gets the green flag two hours later at 7:30 p.m. CST.
