Fayetteville, GA - Mario Gosselin, driver of the #10 Carter/Grandle Ford is looking forward to returning to USA International Speedway, which is not only his home track, but also the home track of the USAR Hooters ProCup Series. The track, a 5/8's high-banked half mile, has earned Gosselin and the crew lots of success since its opening year in 1995.
"Lakeland has been a real good track for us. It seems like every time we come here, we leave here happy," commented Gosselin. "We are going to the track this weekend to win and to continue our winning streak."
Gosselin has received the checkered flag at the past two tracks that the USAR Hooters ProCup Series, Southern Division has competed at.
"Our main sponsor, Cartle Grandle, is based around here and the rest of our sponsors are also from around the area, so I am looking for a pretty big turn out." As far as any extra pressure is concerned, Gosselin said, "at the beginning of the year, I was feeling a lot of pressure from our sponsors, and every one involved, because we were in a slump, but winning the past two races and sitting on the pole four times this year has really shown everyone involved that we have got the right combination."
"We are going to USA to win. We have tested here twice in two weeks, and it went well for us during both sessions. Our goal is to be fourth in points at the end of the race Saturday night. If we can't win, then I look for Bobby Gill to do real well. It will be real interesting."
Practice for the Jackaroo Sauces 200 presented by Lucas Oil Products will begin at 11 a.m., with grandstands opening at 11 a.m. The 40-car field will be formed during the qualifying rounds, with the pole winner receiving $1,000 from Lance Snacks, beginning at 4:30, and the green flag falling at 7 p.m. The race will be followed by 30 exciting laps of the SARA Late Models.
