WINTSON-SALEM, N.C., (May 21, 2001) -- Hal Goodson enters this weekend's USAR ProCup Series event at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway hoping to keep momentum on his side. The driver of the No. 45 Taylor Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo is coming off a string of solid and consistent runs.

"I'm looking forward to racing at Hickory this weekend," Goodson said. "The track has a lot of history in it. The guys on this team continue to give me strong cars and I hope that we can make a little of our own history this weekend."

Goodson heads into the event fourth in USAR ProCup Series Southern Division point standings. In the season's first six races, the Darlington, S.C. native has scored one victory, three top-five's and five top-10's.

Goodson's most recent solid run was a third-place finish in the series' last race at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Ga.

"We are taking a strong car to Hickory," said Crew Chief Colan Ingle. "We have spent the last week looking at where we were off at Peach State and making the needed changes to the car. We're ready to get back on the track and see where we're at."

USAR ProCup Series action is set for this Saturday, May 26 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
