FAYETTEVILLE, GA (August 31, 2000) – United Speed Alliance Racing President Gene Cox announced today that USAR, USA International Speedway, Eastern Foods, Inc. and Hooters of America have scheduled a tour of the Tampa Shriners Hospital this Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. The private visitation will be the first of its kind for the five year-old touring series based in Georgia. Pinellas Park, Florida driver David Pletcher will lead a group of drivers to visit the hospital before they race this weekend at nearby USA International Speedway in the running of the Jackaroo Sauces 250 Saturday night. Also scheduled to appear is Bill Plemons, Jr., driver of the Hooters Ford; Karen Schulz, driver of the Naturally Fresh Foods Pontiac; Steven Christian, driver of the Lucas Oil Products Chevrolet and Clay Rogers, driver the Fire Protection Services Ford.

"We are very fortunate to have great participation from our drivers, sponsors and USA International Speedway," said Cox. "USA International Speedway is the home track for the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and we are honored the Shriners have invited us to visit the children at the hospital."

The drivers will visit each child at the hospital and offer a "goodie bag" while drivers will also be available for autographs and pictures with the children. The hospital is one of 22 hospitals throughout North America that offer free medical care to children at their orthopedic or burn hospitals.

"USA International Speedway is actively involved with the Shriners and we are happy to be a part of this special day," said USA International Speedway President Billy Martino. "The Shriners are a part of every event at the speedway throughout the season at USA and with the USAR Hooters ProCup Series racing with us four times a year we, are happy to join forces with them for this event."
