Concord Motorsport Park hosts final regular season race.
Fayetteville, GA-- While Bobby Gill has clinched the top seed heading into the five-race season-ending Championship Series, many drivers are ready for the Jackaroo Sauces 250 presented by Jennie-O Turkey Store at Concord Motorsport Park on Saturday September 14th. The race will conclude the 2002 regular season for the USAR Hooters ProCup Series Southern Division. Gill will enter the night at Concord with nothing to gain except another win to his record-setting total for the season and some extra practice for his crew and car as he prepares for the Championship Series.
Several other drivers are also looking forward to returning to the track located just north of Charlotte, NC. Clay Rogers and Hal Goodson are two of the most previous winners at the fast one-half mile tri-oval. Rogers was awarded the win in 2000 while Goodson visited victory lane last season during the Championship Series.
Another driver ready for the Jackaroo Sauces 250 at CMS is Chad Mullis. Mullis collected a solid top-five finish at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway a few weeks ago and finished fourth last season at his home track. The family-owned team is one of a handful of current Hooters ProCup Series drivers who have a lot of laps on the fast track.
Shane Huffman, driver of the Jennie-O Turkey Store Ford started from the pole position last year and will be another car to watch during the race. The race will also be a chance for several drivers to solidify their final position in the regular season point standings entering the Championship Series one week later at Winchester Speedway.
