Stacy Puryear scored his seventh Top 10 finish of the season Saturday night at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Puryear started 11th and finished 7th in the Naturally Fresh Foods/Mitchell Shook owned Chevrolet. Hal Goodson won the event for his 2nd win of the season and also took over the Southern division points lead. Puryear moved up to the 7th position in the point standings as well.

"Crew chief David "Petey" Hinson had the car turning so well in practice I could run over the speed bumps in the center of the corner if I wanted to. Myrtle Beach is a tire management track and gets very slick. We should have known we would get too loose off the corner. But you have to finish races to be in a position to win them. Myrtle Beach is not one of my better race tracks so to come out of here with a top 10 is good. We moved up in the points and we have a good baseline to start with when we come back for the Champion race in October. We were able to bring in most all of the guys who used to help me on my Late Model Stock team because we had been using Sean Studer's crew. It means a lot to me to bring people back to the track that helped me get to where I am now" said Puryear.

The Naturally Fresh Foods/Mitchell Shook team returns to action this weekend in Chemung, NY with driver Sean Studer. Studer has won the last 2 Northern division races. Puryear will be back in action at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA in 2 weeks. Lonesome Pine has been very kind to Puryear over the last 3 years. Puryear finished 2nd to Jeff Agnew in one of the biggest Late Model Stock races of the year there in 98, won the event over Jay Fogleman in 99 and finished 7th there last year as a rookie in the USAR tour.
