Pittsboro, NC (April 22, 2002)- Andrew Medlin and the #8 ANECO team took to Ace Speedway this past Saturday night where many employees of the Apex ANECO were on hand to support the team during their run.

Spirits were high for Medlin and Premiere Motorsports with the confidence they gained from their 5th place finish at New Smyrna Speedway and the #8 ANECO Ford was quick on the tracks during practice but the rain stepped in and added a damper to the day's events.

An hour and a half prior to qualifying the rain began, setting qualifying back to 6:30 pm. Patiently waiting out the rain, the team was ready when it was their time to qualify but the track was not.

"We were the 4th car to go out so the track was like ice," said Medlin.

The conditions caused the #8 ANECO Ford Taurus to start 21st in the field.

What had started off as a day that had the potential of another top five finish ended in some disappointment when trouble occured on lap 89.

"It wasn't good and I wasn't too happy," said Medlin.

The #8 ANECO team finished the night out in 28th position.

Despite the rough night the team has not lost their positive attitude and will be back at Coastal Plains Raceway Saturday, April 27 at 7:30pm for the Bryant Heating and Cooling 150 presented by Down East.

"We're going to re-group and get set for Saturday," said Medlin!!
